El*A*Kwents
Biography:
El*A*Kwents fell Earthbound on a fall morning in 1980 in Manchester, New Hampshire, 30 miles north of Boston. Unknown at the time, he and Hip Hop were about to take baby steps toward adolescence together. By the early 1990's, El*A*Kwents became aware of Hip Hop's consciousness and undeniable influence.
Throughout his childhood, civil unrest was forming, bringing everything to the threshold of a new age. El*A*Kwents began releasing what had been kept inside for nearly two decades, as deep and intricate poems, rhyme patterns and lyrics.
Off to college, El headed to Boston where the local Hip Hop scene was flourishing, lending itself as a learning experience and force of great influence and empowerment. He was able to witness live Hip Hop shows in Cambridge and Boston, Massachusetts before moving to Austin, Texas, where he began delving deeper into, not only writing lyrics, but learning how to flow, as well as recording and composing songs. Subsequently, El connected with Inkwell of Artists Over Industry, on what seemed to be coincidently, a Boston-based Hip Hop website.
The Bean was calling, and El returned to the Northeast Region around the year 2000. The world was on the cusp of shock and awe. Absolute Proof was formed accordingly, spawned by El*A*Kwents and Static (now known as D. One) in a Boston apartment. The first demo was cut, the first show rocked, and the first album recorded. They rocked spots in Manchester, Keene and Salem, New Hampshire, and Lawrence, Cambridge and Boston, Massachusetts, from college, house parties to the Middle East and the Western Front to the Paradise Lounge.
November 22, 2003. Lexington, Massachusetts. The night displayed a Solar eclipse. It was forty years to the day Kennedy was killed in Dallas when Artists Over Industry and El*A*Kwents connected where the first shot of the Revolutionary War was fired. Ideology for the debut album Lucid was the result. This bizarre, synchronistic event set a fire-storm, blazing trails in to the future.
December 2003 was the Lucid Record Release Party with Artists Over Industry, 8bzaG, and Vega X at Milly's Tavern, in Manchester, New Hampshire. By January 1, 2004 El was in Gainesville, Florida. Two weeks after arrival in Gainesville, he connected with the Messenger and Etch1 of Voice of the People. VOTP immediately extended an invitation to El to perform at weekly shows at Faces Lounge.
Home once again called, and El*A*Kwents returned home to the Granite state before hitting the road, this time, for Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Surprising to some, expected by few, this move was and is currently, a pivotal moment in the pursuit of a dream. With Int*El*A*Kwents on the table, El*A*Kwents is now in a position to push forward his message of resistance, empowerment, respect, and live-and-let-live-style philosophy. The sky's the limit...
